Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard Kingintroduced several new characters, all of whom have been well-received by fans. Yuki Tabata introduced four past Wizard Kings of the Clover Kingdom, all of whom were original characters. The movie performed well on Netflix, becoming the second most-watched non-English movie on the platform during its release week.
While the initial hype was mostly for Conrad Leto, the other Wizard King also became popular after the movie’s release. One of them is Princia Funnybones, the 11th Wizard King of the Magic Nights of Clover Kingdom.
Yuki Tabata Changed the Character of Princia for theBlack CloverMovie
Princia might have Funnybones in her name, but not a single thing about her personality is humorous. She wears a cold and stern expression at all times and is a prideful woman, as is suitable for a Wizard King. In the movie, her purpose was to seek a world where no opressor or oppressed exists.

Butin an interview, Yuki Tabata revealed that initially, the character was not supposed to be so serious at all times.
Initially, she was a younger, more kawaii character. However becoming the Wizard King is someone who is recognized by everyone, so she became the dignified Princia.
This comment proves that Princia could have been a completely different character had she not been changed to suit thecontext of the movie. But it could have been refreshing to see a cute Wizard King character for once. She could have been like Charmy, who is also cute but extremely dangerous in action.
The end result, however, showed a battle-hungry woman who hides under her stoic and noble persona. Much likeBlack Clover‘s Mereoleona, she relishes battles and loves seeking out stronger opponents so she can use her full strength against them.
Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard Kingwas Initially Supposed to Feature 27 Wizard Kings
According to Yuki Tabata, the initial plan with theBlack Clover: Sword of the Wizard Kingmoviewas toadd all the Wizard Kings who came before JuliusNovachrono. Julius is the 28th Wizard King of the Clove Kingdom. This means that the creators wanted to accommodate 27 new characters who were also powerful Wizard Kings.
We then realized it would be WAY too many, and settled on 4. Having more than 1 would make Asta’s battles much more difficult.
Battling one Wizard King is tough enough as it is, but 27 of them? Asta or any other Magic Knights would have stood no chance against them, even if all of their forces were combined. Thus, the film ended up featuring just four Wizard Kings.

In the movie, Conrad Leto is an evil Wizard King who seeks to destroy the Clover King to bring a new era of equality. In order to help him with his mission, he used the power of his sword to revive three chosen Wizard Kings who were likely to share the same vision as him: Princia Funnybunny, Edward Avalache, and Jester Garandaros.
