After their break-up, Dornan opened up about the “pressure”that comes along with dating someone as successful and popular as Knightley. TheFifty Shades of Greyactor told The Mail on Sunday (viaBelfast Telegraph) that he started feeling a bit“second-rate”within the relationship. Why? Well, Knightley was earning much more than Dornan during their time together and that ended up affecting their relationship.
There is a big pressure when you go out with someone like Keira. You can feel a bit second-rate and that’s what started to happen. It’s not like I was bringing the bread to the table – and that can start to affect everything.
He went on to add that relationships often have the man as the Alpha in terms of money and power. So when that didn’t work out for the two, Dornan admitted that he started looking to be dominant in other areas. Needless to say, this caused problems between the two.

You feel you have to be dominant in other areas and that leads to problems.Dornan’s comments obviously did not sit right with people and eventually, the actor had to come out and give a clarification.
Speaking toEvening Standardabout his infamous dialogue, Dornan stated that it was taken out of context. In his own words,“That was taken totally out of context. I didn’t mean that.”
Now, Dornan is married to musician Amelia Warner and they have three daughters together.

Knightley met James Righton in 2011 when a mutual friend introduced the two. Clearly, sparks went on between them and they ended up tying the knot 2 years later. Righton played the keyboard for the London-based band,Klaxons,which disbanded in 2015. He now works as a solo artist.

Even though Righton is quite successful as a musician, his income is a bit less than that of his wife. While a difference like theirs can cause trouble in relationships, their marriage has been nothing but healthy and full of love and support.

Knightley grew up in a family where sometimes her dad would make more money than her mom and sometimes it would be the other way around. Therefore, making more money than her partners was never a big deal. We are glad she found the right man who doesn’t feel insecure looking at her triumphs.
