XSEED, publisher of many JRPGs and other niche Japanese titles such as theSenran Kaguraseries and most recentlyGranblue Fantasy Versus, is releasing the PC port forWizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls. That’s the good news. The bad news, however, was recently announced in a status update from the official XSEEDTwitter account:
So unfortunately fans of the upcoming title won’t be seeing it until early 2020 at the very least. Hopefully there won’t be anymore delays after this one, but that seems to hinge on whether or not these IP licensing issues are sorted out in time.

The previously mentioned unforeseen IP issued referenced by the statement refers to theWizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls’sSteam page. Back in May when the title was first set to launch, a message was posted on said Steam page: “Due to an unforeseen issue involving IP licensing, the game cannot launch today as previously intended. We apologize for the sudden delay, and will inform you of a new release date once it’s confirmed.”
Meanwhile check out the trailer for the PC port below, to get a better look at the gameplay and graphics.
The last timeWizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Soulswas released was back in 2015 for PS Vita, when it randomlydropped in Japanwithout any announcements from either Sony or Acquire. And while the release date for the PC version is still up in the air, at least we know that the quality of said port will be high as XSEED iswell knownfor the high quality of their ports.
And because this title is coming to Steam, it shouldn’t be dealing withany censorship issueseither, a problem that the publishing company has been struggling with this and last year (particularly on the Sony USA side of things).
