Call of Dutyis one of the most popular FPS titles in the current scenario and has been around for quite some time.Despite the amount of flak its recent releases get from fans, the title manages to gather and sustain an audience because it lacks a true competitor in the genre.

Things aren’t looking good for the game hyped up as the Call of Duty killer.

When Ubisoft announcedXDefiant, the upcoming fast-paced shooter, the gaming fraternity was visibly excited and amped about the title. Unfortunately, even before its release, the title seems to have issues that shouldn’t have been propped up until much later.

Supposed Call of Duty Killer, XDefiant Falls Prey to a Hacker Problem Already

The trouble for the game began when a clip that originated on Tiktok was shared on Twitter by an individual who expressed their frustration with the clip. The clip showed a user who registered for the pre-release street test of the title, and the hack they were using was evident in the clip.

They could identify the wireframes of the enemy models through walls to inflict damage, giving them an unfair advantage in the game. Overall, it made the game a cakewalk for them and ruined the experience of the players who genuinely wanted to play the game.

It is not common for a title to get compromised in such an early stage of its lifecycle.Call of Duty, despite being popular, has also received flak from players for being rife with cheaters. And a title that was supposed to be theCall of Dutykiller already being infested with cheaters is not a good sign.

Worse, other top-rated multiplayer titles likeRainbow Six: Siegeby Ubisoft have also received criticism for being compromised and later infested with cheaters. So, the upcoming title might be affected by this cheating fiasco, too.

XDefiant Being Hacked Pre-Release is Likely to Be Consequential

Other titles from Ubisoft have also come under fire frequently for enabling cheaters and not having robust enough anti-cheat systems. This led many players to question if the game would survive if cheating were as rampant as it is in other titles from the studio.

One such player wasalready skeptical about the company’s infamyand posted this on Reddit even before Ubisoft’s upcoming FPS entered the stress-testing phase:

If one looks at the post, it was posted almost one year ago on the game’s subreddit. This speaks volumes in terms of how penetrative cheating issues in multiplayer games can be in the current gaming scenario.

This news may influence people’s opinion of the upcoming title.
