Xbox Sale Drops Prices Of Some Quality Titles At Just $0.99
Here are some of the titles that jumped out at us given how cheap they are, and the amount of fun you can have with them. Aside from one game, all of these are indie games, which is understandable given the super steep price.
Battlefield 1(Store Link) - Possibly the best deal for just $1 is DICE’s Battlefield 1, which many consider to be the last great Battlefield game. While it was released almost 10 years ago in 2016, the Xbox Series X|S featuring backwards compatibility, means that you’ll be playing with Xbox One players. The single-player mode called War Stories isn’t bad either. It’s on sale right now for just $0.99 far from its original $19.99 price tag. (DualShockers BF1 Review)

Limbo(Store Link) - Playdead’s debut game. This puzzle-platformer won multiple awards. First released on Xbox Live Arcade in 2010, the game has since been ported to almost every gaming device conceived. This is considered a horror game given its aesthetics and theme, though there’s nothing that will have you opening the lights or anything. (DualShockers Limbo Review)
Jetboard Joust(Store Link) - Fast and frantic arcade-style shooter with rogue-like elements. Released in 2020, this is usually priced at $10, but can be bought for $0.99 right now. (Open Critic Jetboard Joust Reviews)

Beast Quest(Store Link) - Based o the best-selling fantasy novels, this is the IP’s first console release. Don’t expect Elden Ring combat or the game world to be of Bethesda quality, but at a super discounted price of $0.99? This might be one family-friendly action-adventure you play with your kids. (Open Critic Beast Quest Reviews)
Demetrios: The Big Cynical Adventure(Store Link) - This is an adventure game that combines the visual novel genre with a point-and-click title and discounted to $0.99.It’s hand-drawn, and offers 8 to 12 hours of gameplay, and has gotten a “Very Positive” rating onSteam.(Open Critic Demetrios Reviews)

GROOD(Store Link) - Another side-scrolling shooter with gorgeous visuals that players can even turn off by switching to “90’s love” to go retro with pixelated visuals. Released in 2020, this is also on sale for $0.99 right now. (Open Critic GROOD Reviews)
Xbox’s Phil Spencer Admits Game Pass “Isn’t The Right Business Model” For Everybody
Spencer doesn’t think Xbox Game Pass' business model works for those who only play a few games each year.
Again, the games' sale price will revert to its original store listing sometime this week, so if you’re even remotely interested, snatch these up. I mean, even if you stop playing it after this week, that’s already a good return of investment given the price.

If you’re a member of Xbox Game Pass, goget this free 14-year old AAA gamethat managed to stand the test of time given how fun it still is.
