Microsoft is feeling very generous this month. We are not only gettinga bumper crop of five gamesin this month’sGames With Goldpromotion, but they are five great games. Which ones should you play first though? Let’s take a look.

5. Lost Planet 2 (Xbox 360)

The Lost Planet series has gained a bit of a cult following since its release back on both Xbox 360. Capcom’s Lost Planet 2 is a direct sequel to their 2008 shooter and takes place 10 years after the original game (which itself got a prequel inLost Planet 3). The game was praised for its multiplayer mode and some gameplay elements but ultimately fell short in other areas. That said, there’s still a great time to be had here.

4. Indiana Jonesand the Emperor’s Tomb (Xbox)

Ah, back in the heyday when licensed games could actually be half decent.Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tombreleased on the original Xbox back in 2003 and was received pretty well. The mix of fun gameplay and a solid story made it endearing to fans at the time. With a newIndiana Jonesgame in the workstoo, there’s no better time to go back and visit an old one.

3. Dandara: Trials of Fear (Xbox One)

Dandarais a charming 2D indie platformer. The game has strong Metroidvania elements, coupled with tight controls and interesting mechanics. For anybody interested in this genre,Dandarais worth checking out.

2. Resident Evil

If you can get past the firstResident Evil’stank controls, there’s a fantastic game here. Capcom’s second title in this month’s promotion is a bonafide classic. It laid the foundations for one of gaming’s biggest franchises and offers some compelling puzzles and genuine scares. WithResident Evil Villageon the horizons, why not go back and revisit where it all began. Disclaimer: this one doesn’t include anytall vampires.

1. Gears 5 (Xbox One)

Gears 5is underrated. Dropping the “of War” part of the title, 2019’s entry into the world ofGearsis fantastic. It contains one of the best stories in the series, some great level design and looked fantastic. We scored it a 9/10 in ourofficialGears 5reviewand said the game “just feels like a complete package.”
