X-Men’s Wolverine has not had any luck with romance, at least in Fox’s movies. Hugh Jackman played the titular character on screen, and even though he has been linked to many women and fellow mutants, there has not been any success.
In the comics, Logan has been paired with several characters the likes of Jean Grey, Mystique, and Mariko Yashida. He has also been linked to Storm, which fans would reportedly not see in the upcoming Disney+ animated seriesX-Men ’97.

In a tweet by industry insiderCanWeGetSomeToast, Storm and Wolverine will not become a couple inX-Men ’97. This might disappoint a lot of fans because they are one of the most iconic love teams in the comics, but the source noted that “Storm will find an unlikely romance with Forge, from X-Factor.” Check out the post below:

The four-issueX-Men ‘97comic book miniseries will serve as the blueprint for the upcoming animated series, which is Marvel Studios’ long-overdue follow-up to the classic ‘90s cartoon showX-Men: The Animated Series.
While the movies had long suggested a romance between Logan and Jean Grey, the latter would realize she did not really like him and would rather prefer to be with Cyclops. But, in a deleted scene fromX-Men: Days of Future Past, the creative team attempted to challenge Wolverine’s storyline and show the viewers that he and Storm have been romantically involved.

This is not the only time the media teased Wolverine and Storm’s relationship.X-Men: The Animated SeriesSeason 4, Episodes 1-2 also witnessed the duo in an alternate future. Their strong bond was evident though it was clear that their romance was just a fling.
X-Men: The Last Standprominently exhibited their complicated affair as they started being at odds with each other. Still, the film showed how Storm can effortlessly handle Wolverine’s rough attitude.
While the rumor of Storm and Wolverine not being romantically involved inX-Men ’97may disappoint a lot of fans, her presumed partnership with Forge might become a new obsession.

What We Know So Far AboutX-Men ‘97
X-Men ‘97is set to premiere in early 2024 after being rescheduled prior to a fall 2023 release. The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes have affected the series production along with other Marvel projects.
An insider namedKC Walshreported that the Disney+ series will run for four seasons, although it remains to be seen how the viewers will react to the show once it is out. Nothing guarantees that Marvel Studios would invest in long-term projects outside its live-action MCU movies.
Still, it is fantastic news for fans that Disney and Marvel believe in the potential ofX-Men ’97. Lead writerBeau DeMayois also reportedly very strict with the team he works with on the project. He only allows true fans to help add substance to the script, those who fully understand its lore and legacy.
