Since being dropped by e-sports organisation, TSM, LunarKats has released a statement in the form of a Twitch stream. you may keep reading to find out what exactly she had to say on the matter. Who Is LunarKats?
Katherine, better known by her online alias LunarKats, is a well known Twitch streamer, content creator, and professionalÂValorantÂplayer.
LunarKats has over 20,000 followers onTwitch, and over 10,000 onTwitter.
She was recently part of TSM’s women’sÂValorantÂroster before being dropped just days after the announcement.
Snapchat Video
Although TSM has yet to officially announce the reason for dropping LunarKats from their roster, she did however address the situation during a Twitch live stream on March 22.
Regarding being dropped by the popular esports organisation, LunarKats said “There is a video of a Snapchat rant that I made in 2019, and I said some really hurtful and insensitive things, I am not trying to justify anything I said in the video. Everything I said was absolutely inexcusable and offensive.”
She then went on to state the Snapchat rant in question was regarding fast-food workers, although she didn’t state exactly what was said, it’s clear that hurtful comments were directed towards fast-food workers.
The professionalÂValorantÂplayer went on to apologise and say she is “genuinely sorry” about the Snapchat video and situation in general.
According to LunarKats, TSM approached her with the re-emerged Snapchat video and the two came to the mutual decision to part ways. It’s currently unclear how exactly a Snapchat video from 2 years ago came to light.
TSM Drops LunarKats
TSM took to Twitter to announce the parting of ways between themselves and LunarKats, but with the all-female VCT Game Changers Series upcoming, the esports organisation are looking for a replacement to avoid having to pull out of the tournament.
The tournament in question consists of 5 players per team and looks to help create exposure for women within theValorantesports community. The official description of the tournament can be found below:
“VCT Game Changers is a new program which will supplement the competitive season by creating new opportunities and exposure for women and other marginalized genders within VALORANT esports.”
Unfortunately, if TSM fails to find a replacement for LunarKats, they will not be able to compete.
