Just after diving into the episode mode, fans get an interesting choice where players could decline Piccolo’s request and head to fight Raditz alone, resulting in a completely different outcome.
That’s not all either! Even if you decide to play by the canon and team up with Piccolo, you could encounter the first What If scenario, that would alter the entireDragon Ballsaga.

In order to trigger the What If scenario, players have to defeat Raditz alone before Piccolo launches his attack, which will result in Goku surviving his tragic outcome and deviating fromAkira Toriyama‘s original storyline.
What Happens After Goku Survives the Inevitable Fate?
Goku surviving the Reditz’s invasion is the first What If scenario players encounter inSparking! Zeroepisode mode. It’s important to highlight thatSparking! Zerodoesn’t allow players to just change the entire storyline like letting Frieza take over the entire universe. However, the feature seems more like a reward for most dedicated players who enjoy intense challenges.

It’s worth mentioning that What-If scenarios are not easy to trigger, as players have to meetcertain criteria and challengeswhile being involved in intense fights. On top of that, players can’t trigger the What If scenarios if they decide to lower the difficulty, making it a lot more challenging for regular players.
After the first Sparking Episode, players witness Goku surviving his encounter with his brother, Raditz. This lets them encounter a completely different narrative from the original storyline. Goku takes over Piccolo’s role as Gohan’s guardian and trains him before the two Saiyans arrive on Earth.
