Hollywood’s former power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are still going through a tough time settling their divorce issues, and to add more pressure to the wound, some of their children have publicly dropped the father’s last name.
So far, only Shiloh has managed to go through the legal process to remove her father’s surname, while the others have only publicly announced the change in their names. Zahara, for instance, once made a shocking scene by dropping the Pitt surname when she introduced herself at a sorority event.

In November 2023, the daughter ofAngelina JolieandBrad Pittmade her debut as a rookie member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College. She introduced herself in the most extravagant way – by shaking her head and screaming her name. She notably said, “My name is Zahara Marley Jolie!”

Many fans noticed how she left out the Pitt in her name, but it was clear at the time that she was no longer using it. Following the controversial split of her parents, Zahara has shown full support for her mother, who also currently takes care of her and her five othersiblings.
The video clip where the young star was seen screaming her name left many netizens unimpressed. They took it as a shade to embarrass her father by not mentioning his last name. Some felt that the way she screamed “Jolie” was an insult to her dad’s legacy.

Alpha Kappa Alpha is also the first historically Black sorority, so she was all the more thrilled to be joining in.
