As per recent news, NBC was going to convert that film into a TV series that would have starred Andre Braugher and Nick Offerman in iconic roles! Well, sadly, the series was eventually canceled and the fans never got to know about it until today!

It was back in 2021 when NBC approached Schur in hopes of rebootingKevin Costner’s1989 filmField of Dreamsand turning it into a seven-episode miniseries. The idea was ultimately canceled but not without some casting details that were revealed. As per a post on X, Andre Braugher (Captain Raymond Holt fromB99) was going to portray James Earl Jones’s character (Terence Mann) from the original movie.

Alongside Braugher, Kristen Bell and William Jackson Harper (fromThe Good Place) were also a part of the series. Last but not least, Nick Offerman (fromThe Last of Usfame) was also a part of the show before the idea ultimately dropped.
In 2021, Peacock hired writer/producer Mike Schur to create a seven-episode “Field of Dreams” reboot before it was eventually cancelled. 👀 The details:
