Christopher Nolan is a legend in every definition of the word. He has produced more masterpieces in a decade than many do in their entire careers, proving to the world just how talented and skilled he is as a filmmaker. Not only has he been an inspiration for many, but he has also gained a huge following of dedicated fans who watch every story that he wants to tell.

Considering just how much profit he brings to the table, it is safe to say that releasing one of his films is a great opportunity for a studio. Since the early years of his career, Nolan had been tied to the hip with Warner Bros., releasing some of his biggest projects to date with their help and bringing them billions in profits. However, this changed during the release ofOppenheimer, which was done by Universal and not WB.

It would seem that as his next project is coming to shape, WB is still trying to get back what they lost, and fans are taking note.

Christopher Nolan vs. Warner Bros.

From Inception toThe Dark Knighttrilogy, some ofChristopher Nolan’smost successful films were headed by Warner Bros. The pair worked together excellently well, and they both had an understanding that proved extremely fruitful when the movies were released. That was until Nolan released his 2020 film,Tenet.

Even though there was a pandemic going on around the time that the movie was supposed to be released, Nolan wanted to release the film in theaters. However, soon after the release of the film, WarnerMedia, the parent company of the studio, ended up releasing the film on HBO for audiences to see from the comfort of their homes.

SinceNolanis famously known for caring deeply about how audiences watch his films, he was not happy with the decision that was taken and how it blindsided him. So much so that he ended up talking about it openly during an interview withThe Hollywood Reporter.

Some of our industry’s biggest filmmakers and most important movie stars went to bed the night before thinking they were working for the greatest movie studio and woke up to find out they were working for the worst streaming service.

Talking about how betrayed he felt, he mentioned that the simple move ended up removing the trust he had in WB, and the next film that he released,Oppenheimer, was done with Universal Studios instead.

Christopher Nolan’s Latest Film Will Have Universal and Warner Bros.?

It has been quite a long time since the feud between Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. started. Since then, it seems to have died down significantly, amid recent reports. It was recently suggested byPhysical Media on Xthat the next film that Nolan is working on, set to release in July 2026, will have the involvement of both, Universal Studios and Warner Bros.

It is safe to say that this news has come as quite a shock to fans who know about what happened behind the scenes between Nolan and WB. So much so, that they began to comment on the post, joking at how much the studio ended up losing because of their one, small mistake. One fan joked that the studio was acting like a desperate ex-boyfriend, trying to get back what he lost.

WB really be like the ex hoping they’ll get back together again despite both becoming completely different people.

Idk why Nolan would ever give his self to WB after what they did to Tenet and his friend.

Chris stay at Universal since they at least they appreciate ur talents unlike those clowns at WB who at this moment might lose the farm.

They pointed out that a lot has changed between the studio and the director, and it would make sense that they part ways. However, fans continued to joke that one is still fixated on their losses and cannot look forward.

Some are still spiteful about what WB did to the director, demanding that he does not go back to them again. To say that fans are passionate about the entire situation would be an understatement.

Tenetis available for streaming on Prime Video.
