Warhammer 40K: Darktidereceived quite a bit of criticism for including a number of Penances that promote selfish behavior. Going out of your way to complete a gimmicky Penance while the rest of the team is busy pursuing the main objective does go against what Darktide is theoretically all about. Luckily, not every Penance is like that.

Something In Your Eye is a Penance exclusively for theOgryn Skullbreakerclass, which requires players tokill a Corruptor by hitting it in the eye with a Grenade Box. This sounds pretty straightforward at first glance; however, it does require a bit of preparation before it can be completed successfully.
What Is Something In Your Eye Penance
Penances are special challenges that often reward players with portrait frames, trinkets, pieces of outfits, andother cosmeticsupon completion. Although players can complete a lot of Penances simply by playing the game and leveling up their characters, some of these challenges have very specific requirements attached to them.Something In Your Eye is a pretty important Penance because it’s part of the Bone ‘Ead meta-achievement, which includes four other challenges. Upon completing Bone ‘Ead, players will be rewarded with theKrourk Mk IIIa Brutehelm. Cash shop aside,completing this Penance is one of the only ways you’re able to acquire a helmet for your Ogryn Skullbreaker.

How To Complete Something In Your Eye
The main issue many players have with this Penance is that they don’t know what a Corruptor is. After all, only certain enemies are named in-game, and it just so happens that Corruptors are not among them.Corruptors don’t act like regular enemies and only appear on maps where players are required to cleanse demonic growth.
There are a couple of maps where players can encounter demonic growth, but the best one for completing this Penance would have to beSilo Cluster 18-66/a. The map’s main objective involves stopping a bunch of heretics from poisoning the water supply. This requires players to destroy a series of demonic growths that spawn toward the end of the mission. Demonic growths look like tentacles with yellow eyes and always spawn in batches of three.Destroying a batch of growths spawns a Corruptora couple of seconds later.
A Corruptor looks like a big yellow eyeball sticking out of the ground or a wall. The game indicates where the enemy will spawn as soon as the demonic growths have been destroyed, so start making your way to that area with a Box of Grenades already in hand. However, don’t stay right on top of it becausethe Corruptor will knock aside everything in the area when it emerges.
Corruptors don’t have a lot of health, so the speed is of the essence here. You can afford to take your time when playing with a pre-made group, but random players will generally attack Corruptors as soon as they spawn since they are part of the main objective.You have to kill multiple Corruptors to complete the objective, so you’ll get more than one chance to hit one of them straight in the eye with a Box of Grenades and get the Penance.Make sure you have two Boxes of Grenadesby the time you reach the end area, just in case you miss the first one.
