15 Best Warhammer 40K Games of All Time
Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge
10Divination Menhir/Awakened Obelisk
Setting The Bar For What A Defensive Stratagem Should Look Like
9Tomb World
A Useful Card In Almost Every Situation
This card is also the reason why Orks can struggle in the Necron match-up. Orks are the only faction in the game with a hard board wipe and if it’s followed up by a Tomb World play, it practically hands the game on a silver Necrodermis platter to the Necron player.
8Hexmark Destroyer
Big Dakka On A Necron Body
Using cards like Divination Menhir/Awakened Obelisk, or cheap stratagems like Master Chronomancer allows you to get multiple Artifice triggers on the turn Hexmark comes down.
7Imotekh The Stormlord
The Best Necron Hero For Control And Burn
6Orikan the Diviner
The Best Necron Hero for Artifice and Consistency
5Technomancer
Consistent, repeatable, Artifice-based Reanimation
4Curse of the Phaeron
Big Damage For A Good Price
3Triarch Praetorian
Affordable Remnant and Vanguard Body With Solid Stats
2Methodical Destruction
The Perfect Silver Bullet To Almost Every Problem
1Lychguard
An Insurmountable Wall For Your Opponent
The Lychguard is a nigh-unkillable monstrosity for any poor foe that has to face one. Similar to the Triarch Praetorian, this card has the terrifying combo of Remnant and Vanguard. Unlike its smaller cousin however, it also has 5 melee attack, 0 ranged, 6HP, and 2 armor. This means it takes 8 damage to kill the Lychguard in a single attack. But even if you kill it, you’ll need one additional attack to kill its Remnant.
This card takes our top spot because there’s very little it can’t do. A cheap cost of 5 energy for how much value you’re getting is a steal in most scenarios. By playing it, you can swing the game in your favor because your opponent can’t hit you until they kill the Lychguard first, you can resurrect the Lychguard back to full life if they don’t destroy its Remnant, and if the Lychguard survives, it can swing for a heft chunk of damage on anything on the ground. Its only weakness is its 0 range stat. But with 6 HP and 2 armor, it doesn’t need ranged damage to be a tanky wall.
