Marvel is the behemoth franchise that has over the years established a giant fanbase worldwide. The banner contains a wide array of characters, several storylines, and projects lined up that have fans excited for the next big thing. Unfortunately with great expectation comes great disappointment, and recent delays in upcoming projects have left fans disheartened.
One notable example is theBladereboot with Mahershala Ali which was planned in 2019 but has not seen the light of the day since. Ali isn’t the only one waiting on the sideline, as another show got the same treatment. Iman Vellani starred in theMs. MarvelTV show which has been waiting for a second season since its culmination in 2022.
Blade 2.0: The reboot that’s taking forever
The titular character ofBladewas originally played byWesley Snipes, and decades after his film Marvel announced a reboot of the franchise. At the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that Oscar-winning actorMahershala Aliwas going to don on the costume.
But several delays and setbacks pushed the movie further into oblivion, until Snipes’ cameo in theDeadpool & Wolverinemovie. This ignited some ray of hope for the fans, who had been waiting for any news about the project.

In February of 2023, Marvel presidentKevin FeigetoldEntertainment Weeklythat productions were going to begin soon. But allegedly the writer’s strike caused pre-productions of the film to be shut down.

Marvel is not consistent with their shows and new characters nowadays.
It may happen down the line, but not until after the Multiverse Saga ends.
In a September Discord Q&A about Marvel Studios with Alex Perez(via The Cosmic Circus), he revealed the update for the second season. It’s not happy news since the studio has allegedly decided to hold the project until theMultiverse Sagais over.
However, for fans who have been heavily invested in the character and her storyline, the long wait is turning out to be unbearable. Many took to social media to express their disappointment, claiming it might take years before her turn.
