Update:It appears that Dmitry Glukhovsky has added more opinions on the matter, both positive and negative.
When told that the move was really bad decision on the part of THQ Nordic, he seems to come to their defense saying that he didn’t believe Steam “gives [a] shit”:
why? I think Epic will everything to help, and I did not have an impression that Steam gives shit
He even seems to dunk on gamers that aren’t comfortable on switching stores. A commenter was discussing the weird dissonance between the game’s announcement celebration and those rallying against the game for having to switch storefronts. According to Glukhovsky, the complainers “because they want to download for free and are looking for an excuse.”
However, he makes it a point that the management decisions are not on him:
I am not responsible for publisher’s business decisions, I do my own little thing - imagine worlds

There’s been a lot of chatter aboutMetro Exodusbeing made an Epic Games Store exclusive, enough for some people to be against the idea of limiting the PC version of the title. Some are also for the move stating that Valve’s Steam finally has some competition. Of course, what does the author of theMetro 2033universe think of this?
Dmitry Glukhovsky, the writer of theMetro 2033novels —that the games are based on— and Co-Creator ofMetro Exodushas expressed his thoughts on the platform shift in an Instagram post on hisglukhovsky profile. He posted a new photo featuring the train that we’ve seen in the trailers recently, with the caption, “Apparently the Steam was not enough for our steam train”. While not much, dipping into the comments finds a mixed response with users defending the move, others against it. It appears as if Dmitry responded to a users comment as shown in the below Reddit screenshot viaGame Watcher. The user commented saying, “Lol you’re killing your own franchise” to which Glukhovsky responded, “no, I am standing by and watching it being killed”. However, the response has since been deleted, but we can see the response below.

It certainly seems as if the author is none too happy, although more detailed reasons why are not known.
