In a now-deleted tweet, UFC superstar Conor McGregor announced that he would be starring in a new video game, with an announcement for the mystery title coming “this week.”
Yesterday evening, in classic McGregor fashion, the mixed martial artist went on a tweeting tangent. McGregor took aim at his previous opponent Dustin Poirier in a series of malicious tweets, whilst also slipping in that he’d be starring in a yet-to-be-announced video game. The star has since deleted the tweets.

While McGregor has appeared in multipleEA Sports UFCgames, he shocked fans around the world back in 2016 when he appeared inCall of Duty: Infinite Warfareas Captain Bradley Fillion. The action-packed first-person shooter didn’t just bag Conor McGregor though, as the title also featuredvarious Hollywood starssuch as Kit Harrington, David Hasselhoff, and Seth Green.
McGregor’s most recent video game appearance came in this year’s EA Sports UFC 5. The star even received an update to his in-game character model earlier this week, butfans quickly blasted the redesignfor not being entirely accurate to McGregor’s real-life appearance.
With a Call of Duty game and various EA Sports UFC titles under McGregor’s belt, the ex-UFC champion could be adding another video game to his portfolio. That’s if a recent tweet is to be believed and isn’t just McGregor being…well, McGregor.
The tweet, which has since been deleted, was replying to a fan who was mocking McGregor’s redesign in the most recent EA Sports UFC 5 update. “I am in a new video game about to be announced this week,” the mixed martial artist said. He then tagged his previous video games, Call of Duty and EA Sports UFC, before saying, “@ new game?”.
Sadly, there have been no prior teases from McGregor on what this mysterious video game could be. As the tweet has since been deleted, McGregor was either breaking a non-disclosure agreement by confirming that he would be in a new video game, or the star was simply having some fun with fans and isn’t actually going to be in a new game.
It’s always hard to tell with McGregor, but that’s part of his aura, I suppose. On the upside, McGregor said an announcement is coming “this week,” so we won’t have long to wait to see if this mysterious video game exists or not.
