Ubisoft is one of the major companies that will hold a digital conference in June instead of its canceled E3 2020 showcase, but prior to that, there might be a surprising event today as Ubisoft China teases an upcoming announcement.

First spotted by the reputable analyst, Daniel Ahmad, Ubisoft China has shared a Weibo reminder for 8 PM Chinese Time, which is assumed to be a new announcement by the French developer and publisher. In addition to this, Daniel Ahmad also shared a brief clip ofThe Division 2where the player spots a “Valhalla” sign on the wall, though the tweet is now unavailable. That said, if any announcement is about to happen, we will find out in the next few hours.

Since Ubisoft launchedAssassin’s Creed Odyssey, the speculation begin on the next mainline title of the franchise,with most of them suggesting the Vikings era as the next destination for the series. Different titles have been rumored for the nextAssassin’sCreedso far, but according to the latest listing by Amazon,Assassin’s Creed: Valhallais probably the name of the next adventure. Various branches of Amazon have listed a newAssassin’s Creedgame for November 17 with one of them referring to “Valhalla” and the Vikings era.

WithAssassin’s Creed Origins, Ubisoft has made some essential changes in the series, shifting the gameplay mechanics into the RPG genre rather than the former third-person stealth-action style. The developers managed to improve the RPG experience by refining and tweaking the core elements of the gameplay inAssassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Ubisoft is currently working on a bunch of anticipated games such asWatch Dogs Legion,Rainbow Six Quarantine,Gods and Monsters,Roller Champions, andBeyond Good & Evil 2, while none of them has a release window yet. It’s expected to hear more about those titles and the other ongoing projects at the company in June.
