Toyotarou handled most of the manga, and Akira Toriyama was in charge of the crucial scenes. The former also took the legendary mangaka’s help while writing the manga. However, he was careful in creating new characters. It might not be accepted by everybody who is habituated to seeing a specific set of popular characters from the beginning.

IfToyotarouintroduced a new character, they would have faced competition from other characters.
Moreover, the wrong introduction could have harmed the anime. Toyotarou’s main concern was that his creations might not reach the same level as Toriyama’s and create a rift in the plot. However, there were new introductions, and most of them happened under Toriyama’s supervision. Whis and Beerus are two of the characters who soon became fan-favorite characters. Now that Toriyama is gone, Toyotarou might have to create new pillars for the progression of theDragon Ball Supermanga.

The antagonist’s face is yet to be revealed, but the trailer featured a mysterious figure keeping an eye on the Z Warriors from the Demon Realm.
