Tom Hanks is one of the most terrific actors in all of Hollywood, and his big-screen works likeForrest GumpandSaving Private Ryanspeak to justify his prominence. But that isn’t the only thing he excels at: the 67-year-old’s voice-over, comedy, and impersonation skills are as tremendous as his acting skills, if not better.

Not only has the actor given his voice to multiple animated characters but he has also impersonated some genuinely excellent comedians as flawlessly as was possible. Just like the one time in 1985 when he impersonated Jerry Seinfeld for an SNL sketch, the video of which has been recently going viral to remind fans once again of the amazing mimicking skills Hanks has.

Out of all the actors in Hollywood, if there were a competition of who could deliver the most awesome performance even if it’s just through his voiceover skills or his impersonation chops,Tom Hankswould undoubtedly get away with the first place.

As fantastic a mimicker as he is in his characters for the screens, theCast Awayactor has left his audiences mind-blown with his performances, especially his impersonations. And his comedic performance of imitatingJerry Seinfeldstill ranks as one of his best impersonations to date.
Surprisingly enough, that very clip that held the above-mentioned feat that he delivered for an SNL sketch in 1985 has been making rounds on the internet, once again reminding fans that Hanks can be funny too.

In the clip,A Man Called Ottostar talks about how he doesn’t understand why food items have been given names like“French Fries”,“French Toast”, and“French bread”when they are simply made in the kitchen and not in France, and even taste as similar as other items of the same category.
Like how“French bread”tastes like“Italian bread”but the names are different for some reason. Or how, if the milk is 99% fat-free, where is the other remaining 1%?

For one who has lent his voice to multiple fan-favorite cartoon characters like Woody fromToy Storyand all six major characters, i.e. Hero Boy, the Conductor, Santa Claus, Hero Boy’s father, the Hobo, and the Narrator, fromThe Polar Express, this impersonation probably wouldn’t have been so hard.
However, for the fans who have only just familiarized themselves with this incredible side of him, it will take quite some time to get over this clip that fans have honored with the title of being the“Comedy Gold from 1985”!
