There’s just one more episode left before the second season ofHouse of the Dragoncomes to an end. A lot of things have happened in the last few episodes, it’s actually difficult to keep up with all of it. However, there is one aspect of the story that fans seem to be disappointed in – Matt Smith’s Daemon Targaryen.

Daemon is a character who has been known for his fierceness and unpredictability. The Rogue Prince was once a force to reckon with but has been reduced to a mellow character in season 2 and fans are just not having it anymore.
What Happened to Matt Smith’s Daemon Targaryen?
Matt Smith’s Daemon Targaryen has gone through a significant transformation in season 2 as compared to season 1, and not in a positive way. There’s only one more episode left before the saga of season 2 ends but Daemon is still pretty underutilized.
The character that once would behead a man for disrespecting Rhaenyra, is now stuck in a storyline that does not seem to be going really anywhere. It hurts to say this but Daemon, one of the most vicious and important characters inHouse of the Dragon, now appears to be someone whose only responsibility is to lead a filler plot.

“He ended up ruining the most loyal enigma of a man”: House of the Dragon Has Done Matt Smith’s Daemon Dirty With Another Key Scene in Episode 4 and Fans are Visibly Upset
The ruthless Daemon was seen at the beginning of season two when he sent a pair of assassins,Blood and Cheese, to the Red Keep to have Aemond killed. However, when they end up killing Prince Jaehaerys instead, he gets into an argument with Rhaenyra and ends up flying to Harrenhal. That’s where things started to go downhill for the character.
He seems to have been stuck in an endless loop of visions and dreams since he arrived in Harrenhal, including one with his mother which made allHoTDfans extremely uncomfortable.

Perhaps the show is just taking its time to properly build up an arc for Daemon that would send fans flying out of their seats. However, we are seven episodes in and the wait just seems to be exhausting at this point.
Fans Are Tired of Daemon’s Storyline
Daemon was a character that would make people say, ‘What’s wrong with him?!’and now, fans are asking the same question again but with sympathy this time. Meaning, fans are dearly missing the insufferable but daring Rogue Prince Daemon once was.
“This NEEDS to be the hallucination that brings him to his senses”: After Milly Alcock, House of the Dragon Needs to Bring Back Another Iconic Character From Season 1 to End Daemon’s Frustrating Arc
Having had enough of him being constantly sidelined in the second season, fans took to social media where they voiced their honest opinions. Stating that Daemon had been watered down from a roaring, vicious lion, here are some of the things fans had to say about it all:
Hope so. Tired of seeing him on holiday and in no action mode
