A new rumor is currently going viral that has shocked the gaming industry. Rocksteady Studios is reportedly working on a new Batman game and Sony is trying its best to make it a PlayStation exclusive. Obviously, the Xbox community disapproved of this and shared some wild ideas.

A gameplay still from the Batman: Arkham Knight video game

Rocksteady Studios, which is a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Games, also developed three games in the iconicBatman: Arkhamseries. However, their latest installment in the series,Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, was a massive let-down. Nothing is confirmed at the moment and even if the rumor is true, players will have to wait for a long time.

Xbox Fans Are Unhappy With Rumors About The Next Batman Game Being A PlayStation Exclusive

Nick Baker of Xbox Era has revealed on his official X account that Rocksteady Studios is returning to make the next Batman game. In the past, Baker has shared various leaks and has proven to be a reliable insider, but this is just another rumor as nothing has been officially confirmed.

Not sure which studio people’s dream is, but I heard Rocksteady are back making it. I also think Sony are trying to moneyhat it lolhttps://t.co/EfcyRKWdZI

Baker also added that Sony is trying to “moneyhat it,” which simply means that Sony is trying to make this game a PlayStation exclusive, which might bea good idea. Xbox fans were quite disappointed to hear this news and shared their wild ideas on social media.

This is why Microsoft should acquire WB.Keep the game multiplatform, launch it Day-1 into Game Pass and prevent Sony from moneyhatting.Everybody wins.

Exclusivity must stop man. It ruines the gaming community for everyone.

Playstation cried for years about Microsoft exclusivity and then they do this… Pathetic from Sony

Hopefully Rocksteady goes back to the old formula and just make improvements there, also they’d be a fool to do exclusivity, look at Enix

Oh my gosh can we stop with the exclusivity nonsense

Sony’s gonna try to get another exclusivity, but Microsoft was the one putting in danger the gaming industry☠️☠️

This is not surprising as this is not the first time Sony has swooped in to makeBatman: Arkhamseries exclusive for its consoles. All the games in theBatman: Arkhamseries were released for all consoles, however, expansion packs for games likeBatman: Arkham Asylum,Batman: Arkham Origins, andBatman: Arkham Knightwere exclusive for PlayStation consoles.

Will Rocksteady Games Take Inspiration From WB Games Montréal’s Canceled Batman Game?

The mainBatman: Arkhamseries ended withBatman: Arkham Knight, however, a sequel made by WB Games Montréal was planned initially. Called “Project Sabbath,” the game was supposed to feature a story focused on an older Bruce Wayne and Damian Wayne donning a Batman Beyond-style Batsuit, which was revealed in these concept images shared by The Arkham Channel on X.

“Project Sabbath”, a canceled Damian Wayne Batman game at WB Games Montreal, apparently has another wave of concept art revealed – this time by concept artist Goran Bukvic. The images match how the game was first described years ago.Credit to Reddit user thebananapeeler2.pic.twitter.com/TelAZeMVMj

Which Batman Arkham Game Sold the Most: Arkham Knight is Surprisingly Not the Winner Despite 7 Million+ Copies Sold

Unfortunately, the idea was scrapped but Rocksteady Games can certainly use this as a starting point. After what happened to Batman inSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which is also a part of theArkhamseries, exploring Damian Wayne’s story in the next game is the most sensible option.

At the moment, it is hard to tell when the game will be released as nothing has been confirmed by Rocksteady Studios. It’s safe to say that the development of the project hasn’t even started yet.
