There is a lot ofStar Warstrivia that ends up being scraps of story beats that were left on the cutting room floor. From alternate reveals on scripts to protect the original story (such as Obi-Wan killing Luke’s father, as revealed by Mark Hamill) to more recent deleted scenes (like the one this article is about to discuss), Star Wars behind-the-scenes lore is rich with some of the most hilarious moments in the history of the franchise that had to be cut for the sake of better storytelling.

Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Clone Wars

One such deleted scene comes from the final season ofTheClone Wars, where Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex of the 501’s Clone Battalion are on their way to work with Clone Force 99, a batch of non-regular clones with desirable mutations. The deleted scene is hilariously hailed as the reason why Anakin fell to the dark side of the force, given the situation the Jedi Knight finds himself in.

A deleted scene fromStar Wars: The Clone Warsreveals Clone Force 99’s peculiar tastes.

Thedeleted scenethat has fans in splits depicts Rex and Anakin boarding the Clone Force 99 ship, only to notice the interesting nose art on the vehicle. The picture has the words ‘Good to be Bad’ sprawled on it, with a provocative image of Senator Padmé Amidala painted on it, who, at this point in the story, is married to Anakin, and pregnant with his children.

The scene hilariously has Hunter and Wrecker explain to Anakin how much they admire the senator and like watching her holo-casts, with no knowledge of the nature of the relationship between Anakin and Padmé. The scene ends with Anakin refusing to let the nose-art stay up there, with the Imperial March slowly sneaking into the scene as it ends.

This scene, while hilarious, shows how intense Anakin’s emotions had become, such that the Dark Side of the Force has taken hold of every negative emotion that he has. Rex ushers the Jedi Knight into the ship, and the scene ends.

Fans hilariously believe this was the reason Anakin turned to the Dark Side

When it comes to Star Wars, the one running joke that fans can never get over is how Anakin turns to the Dark Side of the Force over some menial thing. Whether it is Ahsoka’s snark toward the character or something as insignificant as provocative nose art in the grand scheme of things, all have been thought of as contributing to Skywalker’s fall to the Dark Side.

It was funny until Anakin walked up the ramp to the Imperial March. Then it was like, “Wait, how far is he about to go.”

Another user,@ajzeg01, pointed out how the illustration, despite being in a deleted scene, is actually canon, making an appearance elsewhere in the universe, saying,

Fun Fact: This illustration of Padmé is canon. It can be seen in the background of the clones’ AT-TE in Rebels.

Another comment, from user@jasonbethea7929, wonders how the object of the art would react herself being plastered on a Clone carrier ship, saying,

I don’t wanna know what Padme would respond to this art.

While the provocative picture of Padmé made its way intoStar Wars Rebels, the reason the scene was cut fromThe Clone Warswas to allow Padmé to have an emotional send-off, as revealed byDave Filoni. The scene preceding this had Anakin talking to Padmé via Rex’s helmet which would serve as her final scene in theThe Clone Warsshow before the audience went into the events ofRevenge of the Sith.
