AsStarfieldplayers continue to explore Bethesda’s massive space RPG, more and more players are beginning to discover “hidden” features that the game fails to tell you about. The latest discovery comes in the form of a ship customization option that many others also failed to notice.

In a new post on the Starfield subreddit, RedittorJBrettzhighlights how ship customizations can be streamlined using a very handy feature. If you have been struggling to find the right parts for your ship, this feature shows you exactly which ones are compatible with your ship. To see which parts have the correct connection points for your ship, you simply need to press LT+RT+A (G on the keyboard). When you press the button, a menu will appear listing all the parts that are compatible with that connection point.

While this might sound like quite a basic feature, it is very useful considering how cumbersome shipbuilding can be. Not to forget, a number of players weren’t aware that this mechanic existed in the first place, as the Reddit post contained several players who were discovering this trick for the very first time, despite playing the game for several hours already.

This feature is more for Xbox players as the PC version of the game has the control already highlighted on the screen. It is not quite clear why the developers skipped adding the prompt to the Xbox version, but it could be to make the UI less cluttered considering the button combination is quite long.

As with some of the other mechanics, this one has also sparked the neverending debate in the Starfield community about the lack of tutorials. While some have appreciated the move considering that it significantly hinders the gameplay experience, others prefer a bit of handholding in the initial few hours.

Considering that players have been actively discovering more ways to make the game more immersive, such as thetraveling without the map feature, which instantly became a sensation in the community, it does make sense as to why the developers decided to let players figure out things on their own.
