Despite Gunn’s films being loved by fans, there is one aspect that they have been complaining about in the past few years. The director has been including his wife Jennifer Holland in some of his recent projects, and some have accused him of promoting nepotism. Gunn clapped back at those haters in a social media post where he made fun of their constant complaints.

The director wrote a hilarious note where he seemed to be indirectly responding to the nepotism claims, stating that both Stroma and Holland were not inSuperman: Legacy. He wrote,

“With Freddie Stroma & @jenniferlholland showing them around the #Superman sets (no they’re not in the movie)”

In addition to Holland, people were also critical that Gunn keeps bringing back Nathan Fillion in some type of role in the majority of his films. Joe Manganiello Reveals Sad Update About Deathestroke’s DC Future

Joe Manganiello was introduced in 2017’sJustice Leagueas Deathstroke and was supposed to be the main villain in the canceled Ben Affleck soloBatmanfilm. After that plans fell apart, Manganiello appeared in more screen time inZack Snyder’s Justice League. However, with the DC now getting rebooted, the future of the character was left in jeopardy.

Manganiello recently spoke toComicbook.comabout the future of his character inJames Gunn‘s DCU. The actor revealed that he had a script for a Deathstroke film that Jim Lee, the chief creative officer of DC Comics, wanted to convert to a graphic novel. Sadly, Gunn told him that the character did not have a future at DC and told him to let it go. He said,

“James (Gunn) is my buddy, and James and I had a conversation about it because Jim Lee over at DC Comics wanted me to create a graphic novel series based on the screenplay that I wrote for the Deathstroke origin film… But no one could assure me that, if it garnered the attention of directors and producers, that I couldn’t be attached. James Gunn was just like, ‘Let it go.'”
