A few days ago,The Apothecary DiariesDirector Norihiro Naganuma was interviewed byCrunchyrollforThe Anime Effectweekly podcast. During the interview, Naganuma was asked about the second season of the series and what fans can expect from it. Naganuma confirmed that the second season is going to be even bigger and it will majorly focus on the mysteries of the first season.

He stated:

The story will become even larger. There are a lot of mysteries from Season 1 that grow in complexity and then are resolved.

Naganuma also pointed out that the second season will focus more on Mamao and Jinshi’s relationship and how they phase through the different difficulties of the narrative together. It would certainly be an intriguing aspect to look forward to.
