The ’80s was a decade of extreme fashions and big hair, not to mention one of the best music eras ever. But when we think of that time in history with all its John Hughes movies, mixtapes, and mullets we just can’t associateThe Witcher’s Geralt and Yennefer with anything 80s-esque - that is until artist Roman Tishenin from Russia recreated the iconic gaming characters into a pair of 80s MTV badasses (the good MTV when it only played music videos, unlike now).
In Roman’s recreation of Yennefer - a sorceress inThe Witcherfranchise famous for her beauty and locks of curly, raven black hair fragrant with lilac and gooseberry perfume - he used a lot of references in rejuvenating her appearance that included Vixen, an American 1980s rock band, Madonna, and Cher to make Yen come across like a truly 80s badass glam-rock gal. With her tight leather jacket, knee-high boots, lace garments draped across her arms, and the quintessential 80s big hair, I’m not sure if I can ever see Yennefer in the same light again - nor do I want to!

For Roman’s artistic revive of the man himself, Geralt of Rivia, he spent a lot of time watching 80s movies which then took him three and a half days to draw the handsome bearded Witcher but with an 80s twist. Geralt’s two silver swords are replaced by two baseball bats and his luscious long silver hair hanging down over a leather studded waistcoat. You’ll also spy a bottle of Jack Daniels in Geralt’s side pouch - who needs potions when you look like that?
To create this amazing piece of artistic beauty, Roman used 3D art from the originalWitcher 3game for Geralt’s face and a bunch of random photos to finish off the look. All we need now is amodderto step in and let us playThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntwith these characters dressed exactly like this - I would for sure be one happy girl!
