Since season three ofThe Witcherdropped last summer, fantasy lovers have been champing at the bit for more of the Netflix monster-slaying drama. Even though we had to say a sad farewell to our belovedHenry Cavill, and his lovely leather pants, who played Geralt of Rivia for 3 whole seasons, a new Witcher now enters the arena in the form of Liam Hemsworth, who has picked up the sword.

Much to the displeasure of loyal Witcher fans who didn’t want to see Cavill leave, Freya Allan, who playsCiriin the show, says that her character will become more brutal as she enters a more challenging arc.

Get Ready For A More Brutal Ciri

In an interview withInversewhere Allan discussed her upcoming role as the main human star in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, she also gave fans a little teaser about her character’s “brutal” arc as The Witcher begins again with season 4. “Ciri obviously has changed throughout, but we really see a different Ciri in this one,” Allan states. “By the end of the last season, she’s gone through so much that it’s the last straw. And I think she kind of ends up trying to reside in this other version of herself, and she kind of enters a zone of just, ‘I’m just going to be brutal because I’m sick of the world being brutal to me.’”

We’ve seen the changes Ciri has gone through from season one. Once an ambitious wanna-be Witcher, while still remaining quite innocent in her nativity, Ciri gained strength, insight and power through seasons 2 and 3 as she entered a more confident, and dangerous, era. Allan says that Ciri is “really coming into being an adult and a woman — and not necessarily in the most healthy way.”

The Witcher 3 Killing Monsters Cinematic With Geralt

As Allan is in the middle of shooting season 4, she told Inverse that she feels mentally prepared for The Witcher to end with season 5 but also wonders when the time comes, how much it will actually affect her since she’s been with the series for such a long time. “I was so kind of finished with it mentally. Initially, the challenge was thinking that I had to do two more,” Allan discloses. “It’s going to be the end of a massive chapter, which I’m excited for and ready for. But I think when I actually get to it, I’m going to be shocked at how much that hits me.”

The Witcher season 4 is currently in post-production.so it’s likely we won’t see what Allen is referring to until at least the summer of 2025, but by the sounds of it, Ciri will be a force of nature.
