The Thing: Remastered Manages To Successfully Revive The Horror Classic
According to Atari’s2024 end-of-year report(visShackNews), “The Thing: Remastered was well-received by critics and players alike and became Nightdive Studios’ fastest-selling title at launch across all digital PC and console storefronts.”
Given Nightdive has released some classic games with strong brand names such as Star Wars: Dark Forces, the new System Shock and more, this is certainly an impressive feat, though the exact sales numbers weren’t shared, unfortunately.
It seems reviews didn’t really play a factor in its sales either.Over on Open Critic, the game is only at a “Fair” rating, with the top critic average at a middling 72. Even so, the game still managed to sell well enough for Atari to include it in its latest sales update.
