When we pressed play onSquid Gameseason 2, we did not expect to be hit with one good-looking dude after the other. Whether it was the handsome policeman Hwang Jun-ho or Player 333, the second season had more than just deadly games to offer. However, none of them hold a candle to the one, the only, the Recruiter. Played by Gong Yoo, the recruiter is the villain who has everyone questioning their morality. Needless to say, his death was a big fat bummer!

After Seong Gi-hun brings the Recruiter to his end in the first episode of season 2, fans noticed an anomaly in one of the scenes. As he lay dead in the background of the shot, some eagle-eyed fans noticed how the Recruiter’s eyes opened. This, combined with a cameraman caught in one of the shots, really doesn’t make the editors look good.
Is the Recruiter still alive inSquid Game?
Season 2 starts withLee Jung-jae‘s Gi-hun on a hunt for the Recruiter that got him instated in the games in the first place. When he finally succeeds, he gets challenged by him to a game of Russian Roulette which he ends up losing, resulting in his death.
For fans ofSquid Gamewho grew to love Gong Yoo’s character for more reasons than one, this was a sad, sad day. What can we say? We love our men with somecharacter.

Now, was this on purpose or a mistake made by the editors, we don’t know. However, the majority of the fans seem to be convinced that the team ofSquid Gameseason 2 overlooked this small detail just like they overlooked the cameraman in one of their later episodes. Don’t know what we are talking about? Read on.

To be fair, many viewers probably skipped over the blunder in the episode given how fast-paced and intense the moment was. But of course, nothing goes past some fans!
While the team can say that Gong Yoo’s moment was a well-calculated decision, they will sure have a tough time trying to explain this mess. But hey, we can turn a blind eye to it all, right? Everyone makes mistakes!
