The first entry of theFar Cryfranchise received much less love from fans compared to the next iterations, but a fan is already working on a well-deserved sequel to the originalFar Cry.
Similar toAssassin’s Creed,Far Cryis also one of the most popular Ubisoft IPs that was born in the sixth generation of consoles, though the original game was only launched on PC at the time. An open-world first-person shooter game where players always need to deal with an unstoppable dictator.
In some iterations likeFar Cry 3, the dictator is similar to Vaas, a psychopath who enjoys torturing and killing people, whereas, in the latest entry of the franchise, the dictator is someone like Anton Castillo, who doesn’t hesitate to sacrifice his people for securing his political power.
That being said, many players don’t really have a clear memory of the originalFar Cry. However, if you do, then you’re able to be happy for an upcoming sequel from a modder for this old gem!
Far Cry Returns Is a Sequel to the Original Far Cry With Overhauled Visuals and Gameplay
“Leonj_” is the modder behindFar Cry Returns, a huge project based on the originalFar Crythat is supposed to bring an original story to the game as a sequel with new missions, new gameplay mechanics, new locations, new weapons, new enemies, and visual enhancements.
Unfortunately, we don’t know when we can expect this mod to be available for gamers, but the developer did share some gameplay footage from this amazing project!
The originalFar Cryis now available on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. It’s worth noting that you can play it through the backward compatibility feature on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
