The production house forThe Misfit of Demon King IIhas announced that the broadcast of the anime’s episode 7 and onwards have been postponed due to the increase in COVID infections. No specific return date for the fantasy TV anime has been announced. It will instead re-broadcast the first six episodes starting from February 18.
The second season of The Misfit of Demon King anime first premiered on January 2022, withCrunchyrollsimulcasting the series for international audiences. The new season is split into two courses, with Yuichiro Umehara replacing Tatsuhisa Suzuki as the voice of the protagonist Anos. The first season, on the other hand, is licensed by Aniplex of America and streamed on Crunchyroll as it aired in Japan three years ago.
Shin Oonuma is attached to the project as chief director, with Masafumi Tamura serving as co-director. The production staff also includes Hitoshi Tanaka as the series composer, Ryousuke Naya as the sound producer, and Keiji Iguchi as the music composer. SILVER LINK, on the other hand, is handling the animation for the second season.

The main voice cast of the anime includes Yuuichirou Umehara as the protagonist Anos Voldigold, best known for his role as Manabu Horikita inClassroom of the Elite, Kureno Soma in Fruits Basket, and Klaus in Spy Classroom. Fans can also recognize him as the voice of Goblin Slayer. Tomori Kusunoki, on the flip side, was previously involved in Spy Classroom and My Senpai Is Annoying as Annette and Futaba Igarashi, respectively.
The Misfit of Demon King II anime is based on the fantasy adventure visual novels written by Shuu and illustrated by Yoshinori Shizuma. It was first published under Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko label back in 2020, and J-Novel Club then released the visual novels in English for international readers. The publisher describes the story as:
‘‘After receiving an invitation to the illustrious Demon King Academy, a school tasked with locating the reincarnated founding ancestor, Anos resolves to enroll, only to discover that his magic is off the charts—literally! With power too great to be measured, the former Demon King is branded a misfit. How will he convince demon kind that the school’s founder stands before them?’’
