While we don’t know what actors will be cast alongsideThe MandalorianstarPedro Pascalas Joel andGame of ThronesbadassBella Ramsey, we do know that Pedro and Bella will be joined by Riley, Ellie’s girlfriend fromThe Last of UsDLC,Left Behind,while accompanied by Tess, Marlene, and Maria. Going by DirectorNeil Druckmann’s tweet, even though he blanked out the four letters, the badass Abby could be making an appearance which is fascinating news. Ever sinceThe Last of UsTV series was announced, fans had been trying to guess who would be the show’s Ellie and Joel, and now that we know this information, let’s move onto who could play Abby Anderson, the playable false protagonist ofThe Last of Us Part Part 2.
As stated in theHollywood Reporterlast year, the HBO series will cover the events of the original game with the possibility of additional content based on the game sequel,The Last of Us Part 2so it looks like there is a very big possibility that Abby will be cast at some point throughout the series. The question that needs to be asked how is: who would we want to play her? You may have your own opinions on this but here are some of mine.
Jodie Comer
You may know Comer from her role as the badass Russian assassin, Villanelle, in the British comedy-drama spy thriller,Killing Eve. Not only do I think Comer has the acting ability to play Abby but also going by how she took on the role as Villanelle, it certainly wouldn’t be a huge jump for her to slip into the shoes of the revengeful and fierce Abby Anderson.
Julia Garner
All you have to do is watch Garner in her role as Ruth Langmore inOzarkto know that this actress would kill the part of Abby. Not to be messed with is her middle name and she’d gladly break your nose if you got on the wrong side of her. As we have seen throughoutOzark, Garner showcased that her character as Langmore did have a softer side, and given that Abby also expresses her vulnerability inThe Last of Us Part 2, it wouldn’t be a stretch of Garner’s acting skills to incorporate both abilities if she were to take on Abby’s persona.
Maisie Williams
Now, I know what you are thinking. Yes, Maisie was one of the fan favorites to play Ellie in HBO’sThe Last of Usbut now that it’s obviously not happening, you can certainly see why she could be in the running for the role of Abby. Just by watching her performance inGame of Thronesas the determined and fearless Arya Stark, Maisie showcased that she wasn’t a little girl any longer and that she was more than capable of taking on many of the show’s villains as well as that incredible scene at the end of season eight with the Night King.
Regina King
I understand that King is over twice the age of Abby inThe Last of Us Part 2who is in her early 20s but come on, we all know that this incredibly talented actress would kill the entire show with her portrayal of Ms. Anderson. I can dream, can’t I?
