You will come across a wider array of weapons ranging from trap mines to crossbows that make your combat experience even better.

You should have a better understanding of combat while playing The Last of Us Part 2 since the gameplay basics and enemy behaviors are more complicated and realistic. The categorization of weapons is also a bit different from the first game, with all of them divided into four basic groups - melee, craftable, handguns, and long guns. If it’s your first time with the game, do note that you will also step into the shoes of Abby, who can utilize effective armaments to breeze past enemies.

10Pipe Bomb

One of the craftable/throwable weapons that you can also use in the first game, the Pipe Bomb is effective against crowded enemies and functions similarly to a nail bomb.

Once you reach the hardware store, Manny will note that there are nearby materials that can be used to craft pipe bombs.

The revolver returns in Part 2 with a few drawbacks like slow reload time and fire rate. However, it’s a powerful and accurate weapon, which means your enemies won’t have a chance of living if they get hit by the revolver.

you may obtain this weapon early on in the game, and after a few upgrades, you can take down lesser foes with a single body shot, which lets you save ammunition for the infected.

8Trap Mine

This is an all-new weapon with exhilarating usage, which can be crafted with one canister and one explosive. You can find these ingredients easily early on in the game to create mayhem.

If you don’t want to scout out your location, set one of your trap mines and wait for enemies to step on it. You will learn how to craft a trap mine once you reach the motel after escaping WLF custody.

7Double-Barrel Shotgun

This weapon fills a long gun slot in your backpack, allowing you to dispatch infected with one or two shots thanks to its heavy damage. Suffice it to say that the characteristic of the Double-Barrel Shotgun makes it similar to the Shorty in the first game.

Bear in mind that this weapon has a slower fire rate than other types of shotgun, making the follow-up shots difficult.

6Molotov Cocktail

The Molotov is an explosive craftable weapon that spreads over the landing point to deal damage. You should consider throwing a Molotov instead of trying to kill enemies with melee attacks.

Molotov Cocktail

Its AoE can be increased with upgrades at work benches. The weak point is that the Molotov Cocktail requires a health kit to craft.

The Bow is even more enjoyable in The Last of Us 2 than it’s in the first game. It makes you feel that you’re holding a real bow that brings a level of power and efficiency. you’re able to also maintain your stealthy approaches by not giving out your location.

You will unlock the Bow by simply playing the campaign. This medieval-looking armament can be used against distant enemies; however, crafting arrows is a bit expensive.

4Hunting Pistol

This is a bit different from the classic pistol you’re familiar with from the first game, as it has a scope that allows you to make shots from a distance. The Hunting Pistol holds eight bullets at a time and it fills a sidearm slot.

It is found only by Abby shortly after acquiring the appropriate Training Manual during her campaign.

3Pump Shotgun

While enemies rushing toward you, the Pump Shotgun is the best weapon you’re able to use to get out of tough situations. It had a wide impact range that allows you not to miss your shots from close-range. Mowing down two infected with a single shot to their head also makes you feel like a real hunter.

You can upgrade its ammo capacity and fire rate at work benches. Bear in mind that the slow reload time makes follow-up attacks difficult.

2Flamethrower

It sets everything on fire and is the final weapon found by Abby. The Flamethrower can make the toughest chapters in the entire game a cakewalk, with its sustained damage killing infected and human enemies slowly.

Although the Flamethrower can not be upgraded, its core features are enough to make it one of the best choices for Abby. You will find this weapon on a sofa after falling from the Sky Bridge.

The best weapon in the entire game is an old-school, traditional crossbow that can smash enemies and break their armor with a single shot. It functions as a modern bolt-throwing machine. The Crossbow is also silent and automatic, dealing a certain amount of damage through the shield as well.

You can upgrade it for better stability and faster draw speed. Abby will obtain the Crossbow early on in the game, meaning you can keep it in your backpack until the end of the campaign.
