Henry Cavill loves to sit and play games on his PC extensively. His first involvement withThe Witcherfranchise was withThe Witcher III: The Wild Hunt. He fell in love with the characters and world of that game at first sight and has never been able to look back ever since.
In an interview with Heatworld, Cavill talks about his discovery and love for the game, as well as how important an influence the fantasy genre had on him while growing up. Hesaid:

Witcher 3, when it came out, I just got stuck in, and the world-building in that is so fantastic. They’ve set their rules. The graphics in there still stand up today. Imean, I’ve been playing on my 3090, and so I think the graphics still stand up.
And that’s what I loved the most about it was the immersion in that world, and you could really feel like you could just go and do anything. And the detail was extraordinary.

Cavill has also gone back to the game plenty of timesafter playing the role of Geralt. He has done several re-runs in the most difficult, Death March, and second most difficult, Blood and Broken Bones settings.

Cavil has been a fan of the fantasy genre since his childhood; even before he could read, his dad used to read fantasy stories to him. Cavill has read everything from Brandon Sanderson to Robert Jordan.
