The Eminence In Shadow Episode 8 Recap
After the academy is attacked by the fake Shadow Garden, Cid fakes his death by stopping the flow of his blood, which results in stopping his heartbeat temporarily. Cid does it so that he is left behind when the cult members shift the students in the auditorium. He succeeds in his plan as no one pays attention to him, and then starts to eliminate his enemies by taking them down one by one.
We then see the debut of Nu’s ex-fiance, Marco Granger, whom she wants to kill. He, along with Glen, helps Sherry in running away with the artifact. Cid also keeps an eye on Sherry as he knows she is not good at remaining hidden. In the meantime, Cid learns about the functioning of the Eye of Avarice and the artifact that Sherry holds.
Sherry is successful in activating the artifact and stopping the effect of the Eye of Avarice. While running towards the laboratory to gather the required stuff, he encounters Rex, whom he defeats in no time. At the end of the episode, Nu informs Cid about the situation within the academy, and Cid tells her that he will be tweaking the artifact to enable everyone to use magic again.
