Despite its popularity, the franchise has never quite transitioned well to the big screen and the upcoming reboot will be a new attempt at the same. The news certainly has fans excited and already discussing potential casting choices. While several fans supported the idea of seeing List as the Yellow Ranger, some showed an objection to it on the platform. Given that the original Yellow Ranger Trini Kwan, played by Thuy Trang, was an Asian character, casting List could be a sticking point for some fans. However, only time will tell whether List is even considered for the role.

In December 2024, it was reported by insider Daniel Richtman (viaComicBook.com) that a new reboot of thePower Rangersbrand was reportedly in development with Hasbro working with Paramount Pictures on the same.
While a reboot was in development at Netflix, plans for it were scrapped in mid-2024 according to a report fromTV Line. User@Jinsakuushed additional light on the reported reboot being developed by Paramount and stated that it would be another live-action theatrical film with no ties to any of the previous installments.
Furthermore, the user also claimed that the upcoming reboot is being eyed for a late 2026 release. However, since neither Hasbro nor Paramount have confirmed the existence of the said project, this information needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

The user added that the involved parties had confidence in the new idea, which is unrelated to the Jonathan Entwistle-helmed Netflix reboot that was scrapped. The franchise’s last outing came in the form of the ten-episodePower Rangers Cosmic Furywhich was dropped on Netflix.
