The entire playthrough of the space survival shooter,The Callisto Protocol, has been leaked on Twitch by multiple users just one day before its official release on December 2nd.
Leaking a game before the intended release date is devastating for any developer, not only does it spoil things for those waiting to get their hands on the game, but it also hampers the efforts the publishers have spent to promote their work and ensure their view is appreciated in the way they intended. It may also end up revealing secrets and other important discoveries the developers want you to engage with in real-time, but in The Callisto Protocol’s case, it thankfully has a very strong core that is unlikely to be affected by such a bad incident.

From the footage we have seen, which amounts to at least seven hours of total playthrough time, it appears that the developers were able to deliver on all their promises and craft one of the best survival horror experiences of the current generation. The game also seems to run great onPlayStation 5consoles, which is apparently the platform that most of the leakers are using to stream their footage. The encounters with the two-headed mutants (one of the teased creatures by the studio) are as gratifying and thrilling as they can get, and how their grotesque figures enforce strategic-gameplay styles is certainly setting a new bar for third-person survival shooters.
The Callisto Protocol is supposed to take players roughly 12-14 hours to complete, depending on the difficulty, but Striking Distance Studios has spoken before about the existence of “beta paths”. A feature which act as alternate story routes that offer a different spin on the events of the game, whilst also adding to the game’s replayability factor. Handling a game like The Callisto Protocol also appears to be very different from other horror games, likeDead SpaceorAlien Isolation, thanks to an extra level of detail and dynamism provided by the SSD of the current console generation.
If you plan on purchasing The Callisto Protocol when it launches on December 2nd, we advise you to avoid any spoilers that are likely lurking on Twitch.
