The Daedric Princes inThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimare shrouded in mystery, representing the human psyche and the cosmic order in very deep and sometimes even existential ways. They hold a lot of power in their own planes of Oblivion and have considerable influence within Tamriel as well, with groups dedicated to worshiping them.
18 Essential Skyrim Mods For PS5
From Immersive Movement to Helgen Rebuilt, these excellent Skyrim mods are available for PS5 and will change the way you play this classic.
As you traverse Skyrim, you may encounter these Daedric Princes in different forms, and even be tasked with side quests that earn you powerful Daedric artifacts. Among the Princes, some stand out as the most compelling, leaving a lasting impression, while others might leave a sour taste in your mouth. All of them, however, are the root of intriguing lore that will have you reading for hours.

8Molag Bal
Molag Bal is probably the cruelest of the Daedric Princes, with a reputation built on malevolence. He is the Prince of domination and corruption, relishing in torturing people both physically and mentally. His ambition is to bring everything under his control, and one of his attempts to do so was the infamous Planemeld inThe Elder Scrolls Online. His most influential feat, though, is the creation of Vampirism, the origin of which is the very antithesis of life itself and the very definition of corruption too. However, there is perhaps rather more depth to Molag Bal’s fellow Princes.
Malacath is the patron of the ostracized, caring deeply for his followers and only his followers. This includes races like Orcs and Goblins. Unlike some of the other Daedric Princes, Malacath is dedicated to the ones who revere him, since he represents them and not just the concept of being an outcast itself. He’s known to have sent the Hero of Kvatch to free imprisoned Ogres in The Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion, showing that he is probably one of the more benevolent Daedric Princes. In fact, he was once an Aedra, the exact opposite of a Daedra, but was tricked by Boethiah and essentially converted into a Daedric Prince.

Meridia is the lady of infinite energy, the Daedric Prince of life, and probably the most obscure Daedra of the ones introduced in the Elder Scrolls series. She represents radiance and light, in stark contrast to her peers, and on the surface is distinctly benevolent too. However, she hates free will and defiance in addition to sickness and undeath, her solution for which is immortality.
She bestows immortality on her followers, eliminating their free will in the process and turning them into The Purified so they’re forever bound to her service. It’s similar to the way Molag Bal shunned death by creating vampires. Meridia’s power is formidable, then, but concentrated upon a small aspect of the realm.

Boethiah, the Daedric Prince of deceit and betrayal, embodies cunning, intrigue, and the darker aspects of the mortal psyche. Her worshipers and followers often seek strength through ambition, embracing the Prince’s teachings to advance their own agendas.
10 Best Opening Cutscenes In Video Game History
Many opening sequences are thrilling introductions, but others are just plain devastating.
Underneath the cruelty and trickery though, Boethiah has some impressive feats under her belt, namely being the deity of choice for the Dunmer and turning Trinemac into Malacath (which is the only record of an Aedra being turned into a Daedra). She also created the Chimer, who were ancestors to the Dunmer.

4Nocturnal
Nocturnal is an interesting Daedric Prince, known as the night mistress or the mistress of shadows. She doesn’t fall into the usual category of Princes, instead her origin and lore are a bit more complicated. At face value, she is associated with thievery and betrayal, but contrary to that, any mortal in a pact with her is always rewarded. She also represents the Nightingales in Skyrim, who are blessed with perhaps the coolest armor in the game (even includingthe legendary Daedric Armor). Nocturnal’s enigmatic nature and her association with the shadowy aspects of the world make her one of the most intriguing Daedric Princes in the Elder Scrolls series. It’s difficult to gauge her true power as a result, though.
3Hermaeus Mora
Hermaeus Mora is one of the few Daedric Princes that players converse with directly, in this case in the Dragonborn DLC. He’s the Daedric prince of knowledge, who collects endless amounts of information in his libraries of Apocrypha (one of the game’s many outlandish locations). Whoever denies his endless pursuit meets a ruthless end, and whoever is foolish enough to read his forbidden books is deeply affected by their contents. If the Dragonborn serves Hermaeus Mora’s motifs, they’re granted the Oghma Infinium, a very rare case of the Prince deigning to share his knowledge with mortals.
Azura represents the dusk and dawn, and her influence is scattered across Tamriel. Statues and groups dedicated to her worship can be seen throughout the world. She is known for her role as a benevolent and compassionate figure, a rarity among the often malevolent and capricious Daedric Princes.

Skyrim: 10 Hardest Boss Fights, Ranked
Skyrim has several memorable encounters, but today we’re tallying the hardest bosses in the game.
If you love and worship her, she is sure to return even greater love, but you do not want to get on her bad side. Her ego can sometimes cloud her judgment, since a betrayal of the Tribunal led to her cursing the entire race of the Chimer as punishment, turning them into the Dunmer.
1Sheogorath
Sheogorath is another curious one, the Daedric Prince of Madness who was once Jyggalag and represented perfect order. Sheogorath’s worship is not as formal as that of other Daedric Princes, as he tends to favor disorder over structured devotion.
Sheogorath’s realm, the Shivering Isles, is a reflection of his ever-shifting and unpredictable ways, divided into two parts that embody the duality of his very nature. Perhaps the best way to describe Sheogorath is to show one his Daedric artifact, the Wabbajack, a magical tool unlike any other. There’s no predicting the effect it’ll have on most targets, and followers of Sheogorath wouldn’t have it any other way. You truly never know what’s next inSkyrim’s vast world.
