In the manga world, there is hardly any other mangaka who is as good as Eiichiro Oda in terms of dropping hints and foreshadowing important events in theOne Piecestory. Oda’s foreshadowing is one of the reasons whyOne Piecefans are so attached to the series and attempt to find clues in each and every aspect of the narrative.

One Piece has entered it’s final arc

One of the biggest foreshadowing moments that Oda has included inOne Pieceis Gear 5. When Gear 5 was first introduced in the Wano arc ofOne Piece, fans were instantly able to make a connection between Luffy’s newfound powers and the Sun God Nika. Not only that, fans found out that Oda hinted at the Gear 5 transformation way back in the Skypiea arc.

However, a recent revelation by aOne Piecefan page has pointed out that Oda not only hinted at Gear 5 in Skypiea, but he even foreshadowed the transformation in the Drum Island arc, which was released over 23 years ago. Fans are shocked to find out that Oda can maintain consistency for so long.

The God of Foreshadowing Strikes Again

From Elbaf to the Ancient Weapons, Oda has foreshadowed a lot of significant moments inOne Piece, which fans are mostly never able to guess. However, Luffy’s Nika transformation might be the biggest hint that he has been dropping since the beginning of the series. So much so that he foreshadowed Luffy’s Gear 5 even when Sun God Nika was not introduced in the story.

According to a post shared by @OnePieceDefend on X, Oda hinted at the iconic Gear 5 pose during the Drum Island arc inOne Piecemanga chapter 154. In the same chapter, Dr. Kureha talked about the Will of D and revealed that even the King of Pirates, Gol D. Roger, had the initial D in his name, adding to the mystery of the Will of D.

Although it has not been officially confirmed, knowing Oda, it is highly plausible that the manga creator hid the Gear 5 transformation during the Drum Island arc. Also, the mention of the D initial andNika transformation hintin the same chapter adds to the mysterious element of theOne Piecestory, which is a specialty of Oda.
