The 40 Hinox that can be found across the entire map of Hyrule arescattered around just about every corner of the world. You can often find them sleeping, leaving them open to get the first hit or two in. You can also take on a few quests that will have youhunting them downfor an NPC or character.

Hinox Rewards
Taking out a Hinox can give you a good amount of materials that provide a handful of uses. Every time you take out a Hinox, you will be givena couple of Hinox Guts, as well as a couple pieces of fruit, almost like the world making it up to you for the health you surely lost in the fight.
Hinox Guts are useful for a couple of different reasons in the game. First off, they can be added to an Elixir to helpboost the duration of that Elixir’s effectslonger than they normally would be. Simply add the Hinox Guts to a recipe and you can take advantage of this trait.
Second, you’re able to use them toupgrade the Soldier’s Armorset ata Great Fairy Fountain. You will need Hinox Guts to get theSoldier Armor setto its third level, along with:

The uses for these materials is all for Fusing with your weapons. Specifically, the Horn gives you a +12, the Tooth gives you +8, and the Toenail gives you +7. None of them serve any purpose incooking or creating elixirs, so only worry abouthow much damage they can add to your weapons.
And while the Hinox parts canbe useful to add damage to any weapon, there are a few that just stand out from the rest due to their base damage and conversely, the added damage from the parts. The best weapons to use with Hinox parts are:
