While Team Jade just launchedDelta Forceon consoles today, the dev team isn’t resting on its laurels, as the studio announced a new game at today’s gamescom Opening Night Live.

This time around, instead of a military shooter, Team Jade is dipping its toes in the asymmetrical PvPvE field.

Titled “Project Spectrum,” our first trailer for the game, as well as early details, have been revealed, and multiplayer fans will want to keep tabs on this.

Project Spectrum is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 for PC. There’s no word on whether a console version is in the cards, but if it proves popular enough, you’re able to bet the studio will consider it.

According to the press release, Project Spectrum casts “players into a world in shambles, ravaged by a radiant, reality-warping force known only as the Ember.”

Team Jade states that every moment in the game is “highly dynamic,” as players will face monstrosities created by the Ember.

Players will be able to fight back by “building and customizing their Agents, utilizing coordinated team synergy, environmental awareness, and creative, improvised item crafting — all while remaining mindful of their Sanity, a crucial resource that depletes easily, and of Executioners roaming the world: powerful beings with unmatched agility and strength controlled by other players.”

Basil Wang, game director of Project Spectrum, has mentioned they have been working on the game in secret for two years. They are aiming to create something “truly unique.” Time will tell if Team Jade has managed to do that.

Let’s hope that Project Spectrum fares better when it comes to cheating. While Team Jade has been very active in banning cheaters in Delta Force, there are still numerous cheaters ruining the game.

Even if Project Spectrum isn’t purely a competitive shooter, I wouldn’t put it past cheaters to try and find a way to spoil the fun for gamers. Speaking of cheaters, a recent study reveals thatover 70% of gamers believe cheater repercussions should extend beyond in-game bans, and I agree.

If Project Spectrum can somehowmaintain a steady playerbase as well as Delta Force, then multiplayer fans are in for a treat.
