System Shock Director Says Nightdive’s First Original IP Would “No Doubt Be A Horror Game”

That changes today, as Nightdive Studios has announced that the System Shock 2 Anniversary Remaster on consoles is now officially delayed into next month.

System Shock 2 Remaster Console Versions Get Delayed Due To “Issues”
The announcement was made over on the officialNightdive Studios Bluesky account, where the studio mentioned “issues” were encountered affecting the PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch versions.
The announcement reads,“We have encountered issues that have prevented us from launching System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster on consoles, including Xbox, Switch, and PlayStation, on June 26 as originally intended.”

“We’re currently working to address these issues as quickly as possible,” the studio explained.
Fortunately, for PC players, the System Shock 2 remaster release is unaffected and will launch later this week. “Because of this, we’ve made the difficult decision to proceed with the game’s release on PC platforms (Steam, GOG, Epic, Humble) on June 26, with the console release now targeting the first two weeks of July,” Nightdive adds.

There is no definite date for when the console versions will be released, and Nightdive says they will update everyone as soon as a release date is confirmed.
