DC Studios has released the first full teaser trailer for James Gunn’s highly anticipatedSupermanmovie. It’s full of emotion, action, and guest appearances galore.
The teaser begins withSupermancrash landing in the Arctic snow. It then flashes back to a frazzled Clark Kent walking into The Daily Planet. Then back to show the battered and bloody face of a clearly injured Kal-El. Something has hurt him pretty badly.

The words “From James Gunn” appear as an electric guitar dramatically performs the Superman theme song. A few scenes focus on Lois Lane watching Clark on the newsroom floor. “Director of theGuardians of the Galaxytrilogy.”
The trailer picks back up in Kansas, at the Kent family farm. Clark puts an arm around his father, Jonathan Kent. “This Summer.” Superman whistles, and we see someone, or something, charging through the snow. It’s Krypto!

“Krypto, home. Take me home,” Superman says, then offers Krypto his cape.
At this point, the trailer erupts into a montage of moments from across the film. Notable moments include: Angry shots of Lex Luthor, Green Lantern using his ring, Hawkgirl fighting a fire-breathing kaiju monster, Mister Terrific protecting innocents, Metamorpho staring, and multiple make out sessions between Lois and Clark/Superman.
The teaser concludes by confirming the June 16, 2025 release date.
Our Take On TheSupermanMovie Teaser Trailer
Overall, I think fans have so much to geek out over that the trailer did its job. It surprised me how much we saw. The major takeaway is that it feels like a universe already populated with heroes and villains like we’re jumping into something rather than waiting for it to build up.
WhenMarvelfirst releasedIron Man in2008, Tony Stark felt very isolated. Same with Bruce Banner inThe Incredible Hulk. And Thor inThor. And Captain America inThe First Avenger. It really took a few years, untilThe Avengers, for the universe to feel connected.
A similar thing happened withZack SnyderinMan of Steel. Superman was the first empowered individual the world had ever encountered.
So it’s cool that Gunn seems to be hitting the ground running.
With that said, the whole “Krypto, home. Take me home” moment almost had me laughing in disbelief at how bad it looked, sounded, and felt. But maybe it will play better in the context of the film?
