E3/Summer Game Fest showcases are almost upon us with Geoff Keighley taking to the stage later today for the Summer Game Fest Kickoff.
The show promises live music, plenty of exciting game announcements and undoubtedly a few world premieres.
So, with that in mind, and using some of the evidence we have, I’m going to be making some predictions/guesses of what we’re going to see at the show.
Here areDualShockers’five Summer Game Fest predictions.
Among Us Gets a New Map Reveal
This one clearly isn’t too wild.
Earlier this year, there was a palpable excitement around the newAmong UsAirship map. The game still attracts millions of players all of whom looking for something fresh.
That Airship map was first revealed at The Game Awards, which is also organised by Mr Geoff Keighley.
Couple that with the fact that the officialAmong UsTwitter accounthas been teasing a new announcement, alongside some new snazzy colours, and this has to be another new map!
Warzone Season 4 Reveal is Hype but Ultimately Disappoints
Another confirmed appearance at Summer Game Fest isWarzone.
Geoff is confirmed to be revealing details of the fourth season of the massively popular battle royale.
There will almost certainly be a hype trailer with helicopters, explosions and tons of loud noises but I have a feeling that the reveal and Season 4 as a whole may disappoint.
Yesterday,VGC revealedthatWarzoneis going to have a monumental shift when the newCall of Duty, titledVanguard, launches later this year and I can’t help but feel a lot of the creative resource will be over here.
Couple that with the fact that Season 3 was ultimately a bit disappointing, things don’t look great for Season 4.
Aliens: Fireteam Gets A Release Date
Aliens: Fireteamwas revealed earlier this year.
It’s set in the world ofAliensand looks to fall into the “Left 4 Dead"category of multiplayer games.
While select outlets got hands-off previews, news on the game has been pretty quiet and Summer Games Fest feels like the perfect place for further details and clarifications on the “Mid-2021” release date.
The Callisto Protocol Appears
Another game that falls into a similar category toAliens: FireteamisThe Callisto Protocol.
The game was revealed last year,at The Game Awards no less, however, has been quiet since. It comes from the team who createdDead Space.
While I’m not expecting too much from the futuristic horror title that’s set in thePUBGuniverse, another trailer would be great.
Geoff Gives Elden Ring Fans What They Want
Evidence has been stacking up thatElden Ringwill FINALLY be making its reappearance at this years Summer Game Fest.
Initially, Jeff Grub told fans the “Keighley has it”, when asked about the title on his Game Mess livestream.
Keighley himself has also been teasing things, like retweeting this suspicious tweet below:
Everything culminated last night when Keighley posted a picture of himself looking very excited. Grubb then semi-jokingly replied “He has it. He really has it.”
While there’s no confirmation in this at all, signs seem to be pointing towards anElden Ringtrailer and that’s why this is the final pick of my Summer Game Fest Predictions.
