During the Tokyo Game Show 2022 presentation, publisherCapcomprovided a load of information about the much-awaited Street Fighter 6, including character customization, a closed beta test, a new game mod called Extreme Battle, World Tour, Battle Hub, and more. According to the development team, Street Fighter 6 will offer extensive customization options, with players able to reflect their style thanks to the detailed avatar creator’s menu. In addition to the classic options like skin color, muscle definition, eyebrows, hair, ears, and facial hair, players can change cheek depth and jaw length, or create an ombré effect with their avatar’s hair.

It is worth noting these options will be part of the World Tour mode, where players will strengthen their characters as the story progresses and ask Ryu and Chun-Li to teach them special moves. Another thing shown in the presentation was Battle Hub, allowing players to match themselves with other fighters to participate in online tournaments. Battle Hub will also feature retro games in the series, such as Street Fighter 2 and Final Fight. However, perhaps the most exciting part of the announcement was a brand-new mode called Extreme Battle, giving players the option to customize their match by changing rules and gimmicks. Thanks to the Extreme Battle mode, players will dive into a unique fight to add an extra level of fun by having two commentators broadcast the match.

“This is a mode for those who want something different from the usual fights. If you want to survive in the world of extreme battling, luck is every bit as important as technique,” the official announcement shared on thePlayStation blogreads. As for the closed beta test, in addition to the cross-play support, it will feature plenty of modes, including ranked match, causal match, and open tournament, which will be available in the main game.
