Like many otherBethesdatitles,Starfieldhas a heavy focus on resource management. Whether you love it or hate it, you’re going to need to upgrade your character and ship if you want to lug around some more storage…or do you?

One Starfield player is bringing attention to a well-kept secret in the game’s community. The user, who goes byf36263, took to the Starfield subreddit over the weekend to showcase a simple way to expand your storage, using nothing more than a Xenogrub.

Starfield Players Still Want This Feature From Morrowind Back

Does Starfield have too much plot armor on its NPCs?

In the short clip, which we’ve attached below, you can see the user carrying a Xenogrub back to their ship. Why? You might be asking yourself. Well, at the end of the clip, you can see that the player is actually using the Xenogrub as a storage device. Something that many other players didn’t know was even possible.

Like many other Bethesda titles, Starfield allows players to transfer their items to and from deceased entities. Usually, this means killing an enemy, looting their corpse, and moving on. But many players fail to notice that you can also transfer items to the enemy, as opposed to just taking their items and storing them on your own body.

Want to try out this handy trick for yourself? All you need to do is store your items in the Xenogrub, then hold the interact button (E for PC users, A for Xbox users) over the Xenogrub to pick up the creature and move around with it.

If you’ve ever been over-encumbered in Starfield, you know that it slows your character down until you remove some of the mass. But with just a single Xenogrub, you’re able to make your way back to your ship in a jiffy. Although, it is worth noting that one playerrecently discovered you don’t even need to be on your shipto store items on it.

While the player above has stored some of their extra goods inside of a Xenogrub (as this nasty little creature is small and easy to transport), other players in the community have opted to use full-on corpses to store their extra items. Another Reddit user by the name ofImaginary-Cold8458shared this relatively unknown trick over the weekend, leaving many other members of the community in disbelief.

While useful, it should be noted that this trick isn’t foolproof. Should the body suddenly despawn, you’re going to lose any items stored inside of it.

The user noted that after some panicked NPCs became stuck inside of their ship, they opted to kill them. After realizing that the bodies weren’t despawning, they discovered that each body could hold 135 mass, allowing them to store any extra items inside of them. While it’s definitely a handy trick, many others noted that this isn’t the safest way to store items, at least long-term anyway.

But, if you’re after some quick extra storage, maybe try using a Xenogrub or a corpse in the future.
