Starfieldis such a massive RPG in terms of scope that even four months after its release, players are still making new discoveries that are just downright cool. Since the game’s universe covers more than 1,000 explorable planets and moons, most of these discoveries are of the terrestrial variety, frombeautiful, serene riverstoactive volcanic mountains.
However, one player recently reported finding a new anomaly in space, and while it’s a little confusing at first glance, the player seems to have a solution for what it might be.

Starfield’s Rarest Achievements Paint A Predictable Picture
The hunter-gatherer lifestyle isn’t for everyone.
Posted on the Starfield Reddit, user ii_mr_white_ said they while piloting their ship through space, they were alerted to something being different by picking up on a strange whooshing sound. After investigating, they discovered a fast-moving object zooming around in a perpetual circle, leaving a flaming trail behind it and following the track of a white ring in space, similar in appearance to the rings around several planets.
So, What Is It?
The strange object, as it turns out, seems to be a missile, as the player was able to locate it just after engaging an enemy ship and winning the fight. “I didn’t even notice it happen until i heard a repeated swoosh through my headset,” the player stated. “I think it happened due to an enemy ship destroying as soon as i shot a missile, causing the tracking to go off course.”
A few other Starfield afficianados responded to the post by saying that they’ve also had similar experiences, althoughunlike with some discoveries in the game, they all seemed pretty pleased with what they’d found, even if they had been a little confused upon seeing it for the first time. Said one player, who goes by the Reddit handle Bliss_Hughes, “It’s always fun to see this happen, sometimes they even change trajectory.”

It’s also interesting that the missile, since it was fired from the player’s ship, seems incapable of friendly fire, as the player is shown in the video flying directly through its perpetual arc without the ship suffering any damage or the missile exploding. Instead, it seems to just continue on its circular path, forever chasing its own tail.
