Stardew Valley, a simple yet deep farming simulator/RPG that evokes earlyHarvest Moontitles, took the world be storm when it was released by developer ConcernedApe and publisher Chucklefish for PC in February of 2016. Since then, the pair have managed to bringStardew Valleytoseveral platformsand to great success. That being said, the publishing partnership between ConcernedApe and Chucklefish regarding the PC, Xbox One, PS4, and PS Vita versions ofStardew Valleyis coming to an end soon.
Today, in anupdate on the game’s website, ConcernedApe revealed that they will begin to self-publishStardew Valleyfor the aforementioned four platforms on December 14. The developer thinks they are “at a point now where [ConcernedApe is] ready to move forward on [its] own,” and that they are happy to finally be doing so as “self-publishing is the end-goal of most indie developers.”
Even though the partnership is ending between Chucklefish and ConcernedApe when it comes toStardew Valley’sPC, PS Vita, PS4, and Xbox One versions, the two are still on good terms with each other. ConcernedApe thanked Chucklefish for their massive amount of help and support throughout Stardew Valley’s development in the post, and even revealed that Chucklefish would still be publishing thepopular Nintendo Switch portas well as the iOS and upcoming Android version of the game.
Chucklefish even commented on the matter and still seemed very positive and enthusiastic. You can check out their full statement below:

We will carry on working closely together and are particularly excited to be continuing to publish the versions ofStardew Valleyfor Nintendo Switch and Mobile, including the upcoming Switch Multiplayer update (in submission now) and new Android version which we know many of you are looking forward to!”
Stardew Valleyis currently available on PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS Vita, PS4, and Xbox One with an Android version in the pipeline. ConcernedApe said to “expect some more announcements concerning the future of Stardew Valley soon,” so DualShockers will be sure to keep on eye on that and will let you know what is revealed next.
