Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderis the newest action-adventure game from publisher EA and developer Respawn Entertainment (Titanfall,Apex Legends). As one of the very few who escaped the Emperor’s diabolical “Order 66,” Cal Kestis (played Cameron Monaghan ofShamelessandGotham) is one of the last known remaining Jedi. As such, he wields a lightsaber.
There are a few ways to customize this weapon, but finding different colors isn’t done by just finding them around the various worlds. This guide will tell how to unlock and use the differentStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderlightsaber colors.
Warning: There are very very minor spoilers in this guide. However, there are no story spoilers. I just mention a planet you go to later on in the game.
What Lightsaber Colors are Featured inStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order?
There are technically a total of eight different lightsaber colors you can choose from inStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Just about every color featured in theStar Warsfilms and beyond is unlockable. There is one notable absence, but we will discuss that at the bottom of the page. Here are all the lightsaber colors available to Cal:
Unfortunately, the orange lightsaber color is only available to those who pre-orderedStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The pre-order and Deluxe Edition bonuses are labeled as “(PREMIUM CONTENT)” which essentially means the content was paid for and is not in unlockable in-game. So, for players who did not pre-order the game, there is a total of seven different lightsaber colors. Additionally, all of these changes are cosmetic and do not affect your character’s stats in any way.
How to Change Your Lightsaber’s Color inStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Throughout your journey inStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, you will find workbenches scattered across the galaxy. You can find these workbenches on actual planets, however, the easiest one to access is found on your ship, The Mantis. If you head towards the back of the ship (the opposite direction of the cockpit), you will find your room which has a workbench, as well as a place to meditate.
To actually use the workbench, all you have to do is press in R3 (on DualShock 4) and you will be brought to the lightsaber customization menu. There are five different parts that you’re able to change on your lightsaber: Color, Emitter, Switch, Sleeve, and Material. Different emitters, switches, sleeves, and materials can be found in boxes on the various planets. Colors are obtained in a different way and are discussed in the next section.
However, right from the start, you have access to two of the most popular and well-known lightsaber colors, blue and green. If you pre-orderedStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, you will also have access to the orange crystal.
How to Unlock the Kyber Crystals to Change Your Lightsaber Color inStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
In a later portion of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Cal will have to travel to a planet called Ilum. It is here where you will unlock the other five lightsaber colors: Purple, Cyan, Magenta, Indigo, and Yellow. On this planet, you will need to solve a puzzle. Once you solve the puzzle, you will get to choose which crystal you want to use in your lightsaber.
While this may seem like you will only have access to one of the colors, you will have all five crystals available to you when you customize your lightsaber at a workbench.
Is There a Red Lightsaber Cal Kestis Can Use inStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order?
If you were hoping to traverse the galaxy with a red lightsaber, I have some sad news for you. Cal cannot choose to use a red-colored lightsaber. While there is no reason why he can’t, one can assume it is because he is a Jedi. There are examples of Jedi using red lightsabers, but the vast majority did not.
